Shannon Geltner, MS has been teaching conscious, therapeutic movement for 12+ years in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
She has spent the last year creating Compassion Fitness™ and is excited to offer a wide variety of health and wellness education, seminars, workshops and conferences in various movement modalities to help invigorate, inspire and transform you! Her intent is to help you experience YOU!
Shannon first experienced the Nia Technique on 2003 Shape Your Life Retreat with Shape Magazine at Red Mountain Spa in St. George, Utah. After experiencing the healing power of the unique, sensation based movement, she returned to Dallas and immediately began taking Nia classes.
Nia teachers train on a belt system similar to Martial Arts, and after taking classes for about four months, Shannon decided to step in and become a Nia White Belt. Shannon completed her White Belt in February 2004, her Blue Belt in June 2005, her Brown Belt in July 2006, her Black Belt in July 2008, and her 1st Degree Black Belt in February 2014. Dedicated to developing her Nia practice to share the power of awareness, pleasure, and sensation with others, Shannon has also completed For All Belts (2004) training, EMT training (2007), and the 5 Stages of Self-Healing Certification (2008) with Debbie and Carlos, the co-creators and founders of The Nia Technique. She completed the Green Belt training in February 2009 with Carlos Rosas. In October 2011, Shannon became a member of the Nia Faculty of Trainers as a Nia White Belt Intensive Trainer. In July 2012, she completed the Nia 52 Moves MOVE I.T. training with Nia co-founder Debbie Rosas. Currently, Shannon teaches nine weekly classes in Dallas and Denton Counties in Texas. She also trains future White Belt Nia Instructors, as well as master students, who desire a deeper connection to the practice of Nia. For Shannon, her Nia training changed her path and her life, empowering her to shed 45 pounds and to step into the role of Nia teacher!
As her love for movement and teaching became her path, Shannon trained with Toni Bergins, creator of JourneyDance™, and has become a JourneyDance™ Guide and teaches bi-monthly JourneyDance™ Classes. She also trained with Sue Hitzmann, the creator of the MELT© Method, and teaches workshops that teach people how to self-heal using “hands-off” bodywork with soft and hard balls. Both JourneyDance™ and MELT© are wonderful modalities that expanded Shannon’s teaching and awareness of The Body’s Way. In addition, Shannon is currently completing a 500 hour Pilates certification.
Shannon is also a doTerra Essential Oils Independent Consultant and believes in the power of natural healing.
doTerra is a wonderful compliment to traditional medicine and conscious movement. Using doTerra Essential Oils daily provides a path to preventing illness in a natural, holistic way.
In addition, Shannon holds Bachelor of Business in Entrepreneurship and a Masters of Science in Natural Health and always encourages her students on to create a healthy, joyful lifestyle by integrating nutrition and mindful movement into their daily lives. She loves the community conscious movement creates and feels blessed every day that she lives and teaches what she loves!
